Appearance
Fine shoots forming a soft cushion, mid green. It came into the hobby under a trade name that turned out to name the wrong family altogether.
Keeping
It grows at a moderate pace and takes light from dim to bright, which makes it easy to place. Like all mosses it is tied to wood or stone until it grips, and it collects debris in still water, so gentle flow suits it.
Placement
Tied to wood and stone, in nano tanks and in the front of larger layouts. It fits South American biotope layouts, where a moss from the same continent is otherwise hard to find.
Propagation
By division: separate a piece of the cushion and tie it down elsewhere.
Cultivars
The same plant with a different look: light, water and care are shared with the species.
