AngelfishPterophyllum scalare
Neon TetraParacheirodon innesi
Verdict:with caution
- Behaviour: with caution
- Water: the shared range is very narrow
Why
Soft water suits both species, but an adult angelfish may eat small tetras, and a neon tetra is only 4 cm. The shared temperature is 24–25 °C, so the risk comes from size.

This is a general estimate: fish of the same species differ in character. Tank volume is given for each species separately — two species together need at least the larger of the two, and usually more.
