Neon Tetra and Black Molly: can they live together?

Verdict:not recommended

  • Behaviour: compatible
  • Water: ranges do not overlap

Why

The water hardness does not overlap: neon tetras need 1–10 dGH, mollies 15–30 dGH. The fish are peaceful by nature, but there is no water that suits both, so keeping them together is not recommended.

This is a general estimate: fish of the same species differ in character. Tank volume is given for each species separately — two species together need at least the larger of the two, and usually more.
