Siamese Fighting Fish and Black Molly: can they live together?

Verdict:not recommended

  • Behaviour: not recommended
  • Water: ranges overlap

Why

A Siamese fighting fish is, as a rule, kept alone: it rarely tolerates tankmates. The molly is larger (8–12 cm) and needs hard, alkaline water. The two share a hardness range, but the needs of the species differ.

This is a general estimate: fish of the same species differ in character. Tank volume is given for each species separately — two species together need at least the larger of the two, and usually more.
