A variety of parrot’s feather from the state of Santa Catarina in southeastern Brazil. Less demanding than the ordinary form: it has fewer leaf segments, they are wider, the colour is a lighter green, and it grows out of the water less readily.

Appearance
It has fewer leaf segments, and they are wider than in the ordinary form; the colour is a lighter green, slightly red-brown under strong light. It is less prone to growing out of the water. Its emergent shoots are noticeably smaller than those of the ordinary form, but with the same blue-green, water-repellent leaves. It differs from 'Green' by a lighter green colour and wider feathery segments.
Keeping
Very easy — less demanding than the ordinary form. Growth very fast, light medium to strong, CO₂ 10–40 mg/l, temperature 15–25 °C.
Placement
Fine-leaved, propagated by cuttings. Background and midground, a Dutch-style street.
Trade names
It was introduced to the hobby first as Myriophyllum aquaticum 'Santa Catarina', and later described as a variety of the species. It does not appear to be in the trade yet — it is found only from other hobbyists.
